Gun Wad Bible leaf, printed in 1776, 1 page, about 10x7.5 inches. Condition is excellent. This one is from the Book of Isaia, Chapter 13 & 14 and has part of the oracles against the pagan nations. These pages are from the press of Christopher Sauer of Germantown Pennsylvania and were used by both sides in the Revolutionary War to make musket cartriges. Hence the nickname of this edition as the Gun Wad Bible. A truly rare item as only 127 completed bibles were made. Part of the exact item is imaged.
